Blakely Copeland Cahoon was admitted the SC Bar in May 2000. She has been an active member of the SC Bar since that time. Mrs. Cahoon is a current member of the Richland County Bar and the South Carolina Bar’s Estate Planning and Probate Section, Tax Section, Elder Law Committee, Family Court Section, Law Related Education Committee and Speakers Bureau. Mrs. Cahoon also participates the SC Bar Pro Bono Program and is an attorney coach for the Ben Lippen Middle School Mock Trial team.
Mrs. Cahoon graduated cum laude from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Government in May 1996. While at Wofford she was active in the Pep Band, Women’s chorus, Kappa Alpha Theta and served as Student Body Secretary. Mrs. Cahoon received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina Law School in May 1999. While in law school, Mrs. Cahoon was a member of the Moot Court bar and the Order of Wig and Robe. Mrs. Cahoon then attended the University Of Florida School Of Law and earned her LL.M Taxation in May 2000.
Mrs. Cahoon is married to Frank Ellwood Cahoon, III. They have two children Frank IV and Grace. Mr. Cahoon is a certified public accountant. Mr. and Mrs. Cahoon are active members of Northeast United Methodist Church where Mrs. Cahoon serves as Church Council chair, children's Sunday School teacher and and is a member of the Chancel Choir. Mrs. Cahoon is a past President of the Brookland Academy Parent Teacher Organization where she served two terms. Mrs. Cahoon is a sustainer member of the he Columbia Junior League. Mrs. Cahoon also serves on the Board of Directors of the Alala Cancer Society. The Cahoons can often be found at the football field or soccer pitch coaching or cheering on Frank IV and Grace or cheering on their South Carolina Gamecocks in all sports.
